This is probably the wrong place to ask this question can anybody
give me good links to resources concerning academics who research
into areas concerning cyber security, cryptography, distributed systems, privacy, anonymity, cryptocurrencies and the social sciences.

Try a web search for "college courses cybersecurity." That should give you leads to schools and faculties.
