About 20-hours after I posted the last post in this thread, a barrage of Mozilla security updates happened in SCL, which seems to have patched my little problem, is why I posted about this mess in the first place the way I did...

I've been on the Net all day without any incident.. it's like "a breath of fresh air in a cheap cigar smokey room".. The geniuses at Mozilla sure are Fast and on the cutting-edge.. I wonders if a group of Mozilla geniuses pulled an all-nighter to correct that mess..

Last night the FireFox icon was in the desktop lower toolbar, default.. This morning I booted-up the notebook, and the desktop loaded with the FireFox icon missing from the lower toolbar..? What can cause that?.. Is that a bit of a hack attempt.. or is it just a glitch in the latest group of Mozilla updates..? Has anyone else had this happen on their desktop..?

I've put all the science in the closet indefinitely, in favor of learning Linux's inner basics.. I'm 66.. Maybe I have a few years left, to design the technologies that could rescue this planet's life support systems.. I shouldn't be wasting my remaining time learning what's obsolete, just to get a dern computer working, when I should be exploring the new technologies required to prevent the extinction of life on this planet.. But if that's what humanity wants of me, then the science is all Off, and I'll use up another year learning Linux, and I'll put in another day clearing the snow and ice from the roof drive and road, and try to keep myself alive in this nightmare of torture and terror that crazy people believe I deserve for daring to tell humanity to wash their hands after using the potty.. I Quit!.. You critters fix the planet.. I'll watch...
See "occultrush"..

"They loosened ff".. ohh Yuk!.. Not good!.. Is that why the ff icon vanished..?
I'm gonna give-up trying to make an OS secure in today's kookoo global asylum world.. Seems it just can't be done.. The good guys fix something, then the dead inside people break something else, as if evil is forever perpetually attacking and destroying good..
The world is just too full of loveless ooks who have a desperate need to break everything they see and touch.. It's all out of control.. Even the so-called "authorities" are doing much of the crime and evil these days, just because they can.. They believe it's their right.. Seems the world's governments these days are all nothing but "organized crime", at best...

I've saved half a tera of the various videos that interest me.. I'm just gonna stay off the Net, and sit back and learn and enjoy this stuff I've collected over four-years, and just forget about the Internet, except for downloading the odd pix or tune from a few honest trusted safe websites, and maintain a couple computers off the Net, for playing on and in my own little private cyber-world.. and mostly just stay off the computer, and seriously get into building the new invention things my family needs built in our cluttered little spare room workshop.. plus spend some quality-time learning the insides of Unix and RedHat, and all the secret workings of Gimp and Audacity, so to make some peaceful deep sorcery-class music, create some artisan-class bits of leg-wetting puddle-sitting artwork, and build my own Linux animated-dragons desktop-handler..
And then somewhere in that project I'll just roll over, breathe my last breath, beat my last beat, and die and fly.. I've quit trying to help anybody with anything.. It used to be that my code was to be there for anyone who needed their pains removed by my silly little hands-on healing abilities.. But these days should I help people, or heal people, or be there for them, they just always attack, bite, and sting, and sometimes worse.. This world isn't my home, and people aren't my friends.. I like the huge wild predators in the quiet clean forests.. They are always friendly, and sometimes they let me touch them, and I can always trust them with my feelings and life.. Some even seem to have a need to protect me, and some need to teach me how they acquire food.. There have even been times the animals left food for me in the night by the entrance to my tent.. and it makes my eyes tearful when I sees it.. I suppose they feel the love that's in me for them and the planet and the universes...

There are a few great Linux how to links in this thread, provided by the Brothers..
Would the Linux Brothers and Sisters kindly provide a list of all the very best links available to learn the depths of: Unix, Linux, RedHat, Gimp, Audacity, and how to easily make a trouble-free live DVD install ISO of SCL 6.4... That's all I have to say on the Internet.. End of my story...
I'm bouncing in my chair, waiting in excited expectation of this list of howto's...

I asked you politely to leave your ranting out of it. Please keep it factual.

I see communications with people and forums, as a varied diversified flow and motion of facts, and ideas, complaints, niceties, feelings, greetings, kindnesses, solutions, oddities, and compliments.. not just all cold hard data, even computer forums.. Sometimes when all the details are in the equation, even the silly ones, those who have answers can better solve a predicament.. It's like how placer diamonds are found.. They dig and dig and dig, and sort and sort, and wash and wash, till what's left is a bright beautiful diamond in the hand, and the spillings and tillings and muck is all dumped in a quickly forgotten pile at the side.. I thought a forum would address and permit the whole person be a part of it.. like how Life is everything in itself.. After-all a forum is People being themselves, so is all Life...
Please explain on friendly terms why a thread can't drift off topic a little, and why someone can't detail what's behind a question or complaint.. It doesn't hurt anyone nor anything...

Sorry to have upset you.. but I did post that would be my last rant, and pretty much my last Internet stuff too, besides my taking the odd video and pix from the Net from safe sites.. I'm quiting everything, but home and immediate family...

I really would like to see a list of the best of the best howto novice Linux links for: Gimp, Audacity, learning Unix & RedHat, and making an easy Live DVD install ISO..
I won't be posting here anymore, because I am off the Net..
All I ever gets from it is lots of trouble and lots of anger and hate..
I only wants to see and read that list, and copy it, and check it out, and learn it all.. but if you're too busy, I'll find the list myself.. I don't have anything else to do, and I'm dying...

Your question is off-topic. However it warrants its own thread which you will find here: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...tc-4175488037/.

Linuxquestions.org is first and foremost a friendly place where people ask and answer mostly technical questions about anything Linux. The General forum is a place where non-technical questions can be asked, liken it to a water cooler of sorts, and where you can ask non-Linux questions. The Linux Security forum is a place where security newbies and old hands alike focus on facts, not fiction, to solve security related problems as quick and as efficient as possible. Anything else basically is a distraction.

This thread is closed as just that but at least I've salvaged your other question (see previous post).
Should you ever post a new thread about a technical Linux problem then please remember to help us to help you and remain factual.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
