Idea on spoofed packets?
 

Hi all,

I was just wonder about this and couldnt find any perfect answer in google too. I just wanted to know, if i send a spoofed packet to someones computer, how do i get it back (or is it atall possbile?) . What i mean is that, suppose a network only allows a particular IP through their router (or firewall, whatever). Lets say the IP is 180.100.100.100 (for example). Now, if i manage to spoof a packet claiming its Ip to be 180.100.100.100, it gets inside the network well and fine, but how do i get the reply back to my computer (which ofcourse has an IP other than 180.100.100.100), eg: in case of icmp reply. No i m not trying to run any DoS attack or trying to hack anyones network, i just want to know it for the sake of knowledge.

you cant ....

well you can ..... , but only if you can change the routing info to a few computers, when the target system sends a reply, it goes though multiple computers before it gets back to you, if you can pinpoint the route perfectly, and modify a computer on that route to "change" 1 IP with yours, you can get replies .... but it would be difficult at best, especially since the route can change without warning, so the best computer to change would be the first one the targets data goes though .... not exactly something you would want to do tho
