i loggedin as root but cant lock screen WHY ?


hi all
i cant lock screen in gnome as root plz tell me how can i lock screen as root

I believe Gnome still uses Xscreensaver, which is deliberately configured to not run as root: A perfectly intelligent security precaution.

There are ways to work around this: Google will tell you how to change the setting. But you shouldn't.

Run :
kdesktop_lock --forcelock

If you have kde installed as well ;-). (Yes, it does work from inside gnome as root.)

Apparently, not as default, which is the root of the issue.
