I forgot my Superuser password on Suse 9.1

I forgot my superuser (SU) password on my Suse 9.1. Is there a way to reset it?

I did that already but that did not seem to work when I tried to log in to the SU account. Maybe I did something wrong.

If you have another Linux box (no matter what flavor) you can simply take root's line from /etc/shadow (containing the encrypted root password of the other box) and place it into the SUSE 9.1's /etc/shadow. Remove the former root line in SUSE's /etc/shadow and reboot into multiuser mode.
Both machines will have the same root password now.

However, make sure you have a backup of /etc/shadow before you do this ;-)
