Post How to set password to a directory to access


I am looking for a advice how to set password for a folder to access. I am using RHEL WS 4 . Please help me out.

Why aren't user permissions enough? You could create a group "myplace" and "chgrp -R myplace /my/place". Then add users to myplace to give them access

chmod 777 will not work, since the owner is still root. You need to do "chown youruser <file>". And then your bash script can delete it.
