how to enable lastb

Is lastb a part of "last", or do I need to install a new program file or package?

Would appreciate help to enable this function as someone recently hacked into our thunderbird program.

Thanks.

In any case it'll be a package with "sysvinit" in the name. I remember that installing the package didn't enable it, I had to touch /var/log/btmp (last uses wtmp).

someone recently hacked into our thunderbird program
Any details on that?
