Hi iainr,

Well, our support in asking direct questions t Oracle is in a process of renewel. However, we are still allowed to browse the technical forums on their support website. And for all the people who have encoutered this problem have been answered with this solution.

The funny thing that all the processing happens on the same machine so I don't blame you for being confused. However the fact is that running the 'xhost +' command does the trick.

And just a comment - Oracle has a very strange tendency of having such, extremely peculiar problems. In Windows e.g. the report server would not generate reports unless a printer is installed, even though you only view your reports online and do not require printing. Hence once has to install a fake printer!!
