how to diable changing password ?


hi all,

how can i disable my normal "user" account from changing their password ? i using red hat 6.2 Gnome. Can we do it in the bash ?

man passwd

hmm m.. still dont get it .. my red hat 6.2 dont have -n

anyone got any idea ?

You can also use chattr +i /etc/shadow then NOBODY can change the password ... if somebody wants to change the password the superuse has to use chattr -i /etc/shadow

probably this is what you're looking for ... for more information check the man page of chattr
