Hello!
I have this problem:
I have a user (ex: "mark") and a new group (ex: "family").
The home of "mark" is "/var/log/marklog".
When "mark" logging whit "ssh", hi go directly in they home (correctly!) "/var/log/marklog".
I need to block "mark" to see and navigate only they home and subfolder!
Don't let him ssh with root priveleges may be a good start! Back in the old days when
I was at uni, we had to dialup using SLIP & telnet and login with our user id + p/w.
Not sure about the details of the security aspect of these either. Someone else pls
comment.
Use a chroot jail. There are a number of different projects/tools for configuring the jail. Take a look at the Jail chroot project as well as the chroot portion of unSpawns Security references thread.
