how do i use chroot to set a user account ...


Hi there,

how do i use chroot to set an user account which cant see outside the $HOME dir?

Hi
i am using Redhat 9 and found tht by default ftp is restricted to his/her home dir.

New to linux but this is all i can say

Are you allowing them Terminal access via telnet/ssh? If so, I am not sure you can stop them from viewing outside their home directory. However, you should be safe from a default install, in that they will not be able to modify or read system files.
The above link looks good, however, someone who knows whay they are doing could probably get around it.
