help with nessus
Am a new user in nessus, i have installed it correctly and everything seems Ok, that's the
authentication etc. but whenever i try to scan a particular host or hosts the following two
errors appear viz;
1) Nessusd return an empty report
2) E002 - these hosts could not be tested because you are not allow to do so:
Does anyone in here have an idea with this I really need some help with these problems.
Thanks in advance

Did you add any rules when creating a user with nessus-adduser or did you just leave it blank with ctrl-D?

Try nasl
If u r getting problems, try using nasl.
This is a little painful coz u need to give all the parameters as a command..
e.g.
Code:
# cd /usr/local/lib/nessus/plugins ->this is where ur plugins will be
# nasl -h <Host_IP> <plugin_name>.nasl
Try it..hope it works

Try creating a new user with nessus-adduser without any rules (just hit ctrl-d when it asks for rules). See if that new user can scan properly.
