Question Help with firewall

Hello Everybody,

I'm sorry to ask this question, i know it gets a little bit annoying seeing questions repeated.

I need a little bit of help with my firewall, Basically i want my linux machine; Redhat 7.2 to allow incoming and outgoing packets on port 80 and a few others.

In the firewall config (programs>>system>>firewall-config)

OK so here's how i've set it up.

accept on port 80, 22 outgoing to any ip/on any dest port, but i need to know howto block the rest of the ports.

I'm very sorry if i'm a little unclear, hopefully you understand what i'm on about.

Thanks.

HI,

1. i would stop all the services i do not need
2. type lsof -P -n -i this shows you all open ports, so stop all services you do not need, so in your case there shoud be only port 80 and 22 shown as services from httpd (port 80) and inetd (port 21)

sorry i canīt tell you how to block all, but normaly a linux firewall is configured to block all und you must tell the firewall which packes should go throug. So all other is block *g*.

Hope this helped you little.
