Help with connection tracking

Hi to all,

I badly need a confirmation about what I have written below. I want to
know if I got it right.

"when a protocol is unknown to the ip_conntrack module (if you don't
have or don't want to use helper conntrack modules like that for TCP
or FTP), connection tracking adopts a default method for handling
these packets. It resembles the handling of UDP packets. When this
default behaviour is used, even a packet that is not the SYN packet is
considered as NEW. Any packet in the reverse direction (reply packet)
will set the connection state to ESTABLISHED.

Any input will be very much appreciated..

Warm regards,
Visham

Sorry Iceman...just got a problem with my browser..it gave me the standard "Page cannot be displayed" error page when I hit the submit button..

I refreshed the page and then clicked submit button again..

That's the reason for the double post..

Sorry for that..I didn't do it on purpose.

Just wanted to ask you if you know abt the problem I asked above..if you do, then please help cos I badly need to know if it's right.

Thx in advance..

Regards,
Visham
