Hard disk encryption any help with wireless deauthentication attacks? How?

I've setup a new laptop with whole drive encryption.

[Windows 10 not suitable. I need to use a BT device to make Skype calls via my Minitek RCU for hearing "instruments". Using a BT device causes keyboard to type double entries, then there is adware, bloatware, nagware etc etc. Ugh!]

Just curious setting aside other security measures I have put in place with router, firewalls, rkhunter, swapoff, psad, bfd etc etc. Does encryption in any way help with hackers using wireless deauthentication attempts to DoS me and proceed to hack my laptop?

Also if I spoof my wireless MAC address? I disabled eth0.

All is well for time being, just curious about these scenarios.

No, encrypting your hard drive does nothing related to people being able to hack into the running OS. Why? Because they would be hacking into the running OS which sees your hard drive as unencrypted, or it wouldn't be able to run.
If you spoof your MAC address that lowers the potential of somebody being able to identify your machine if you move to another place or to know that you have returned to the same place. It doesn't make your machine any less susceptible to any exploits which may exist on it.

And wireless deauthentication doesn't care if you're on some super-high-end gaming laptop with dozens of gigs of ram, or if it's a Rasbperry Pi with a 2GB SD card and a USB WiFi dongle, or even if it's a refirgerator. All of those devices use the same protocols and methods to connect to a WiFi access point. If you're really concerned about losing connectivity, you should really look at using hard-wired Ethernet.

The only advantage to full disk encryption is if your laptop gets stolen while it's off, the thieves won't be able to retrieve your files. If the machine is running, FDE do anything for you.

Thanks everyone. I suspected this was the situation, but was uncertain if they could see my files or just something like you'd see on an encrypted home directory with a live CD. I've not hacked anyone, so didn't know.

Like a lot of people I find wireless internet very useful to be able to find information on the fly, google maps etc. I'm often driving to new territory at 80km/hr on a highway, so having directions whispered in my hearing aids is very helpful!

I did find using "swapoff -a" helped significantly. Also if I overwrite a drive I don't have to worry so much about malware lurking there.

I may look into changing my connection setup and use both. I have a wireless USB stick, a combined wireless stick/ethernet router, and a pocket wireless router. At home I use both a laptop and a Samsung Galaxy TabA tablet over wireless. This may sound weird, but could I use two routers, how would this work? Simply plug my wireless router into the combined wireless/ethernet router and just use my laptop at home over ethernet?

At the moment, for one reason or another, I haven't had anyone doing deauth attacks recently.
