GUI Firewall/IDS

On my win2k system i use sygate personal firewall pro. It shows a graphical representation of all traffic on the network and pops up windows whenever something trys to access my network(ping, port scan, etc). Is there anything like that for linux?

Maybe you are looking for something like Astaro. It's a whole distribution though ... maybe you should take a look at that one. It has web based GUI and it's afaik pretty secure distribution - just like Kaladix and others!

firestarter is something to keep in mind also

firestarter looks pretty good. I'll download that later and see how it works. I couldnt find where to download Astaro. All i could find were the documents and the forums  . I check that one out some more also.
Thanks for helping out a linux :newbie: .

Any more suggestions would greatly appreciated (i'm pickey hehehe)

Astaro... there's a link from the above page to 'Astaro's homepage'. From there, you can select the 'download' button at the top and download from there.

Sorry regarding that link. Thought it was astaro.org, next time I double-check :-)

Firestarter and Shorewall are both excellent.

Astaro is a full distribution, has a limited GUI for the free version and needs a lot of non standard installation/maintenance.
