Getting rid of certificate requirement in MUTT

When running MUTT on a RHEL 5.4 box, I get the message:
------------------------------------------------------
Server certificate has expired

This certificate belongs to:
localhost.localdomain
Unknown
SomeOrganization
SomeOrganizationalUnit
SomeCity

This certificate was issued by:
localhost.localdomain
Unknown
SomeOrganization
SomeOrganizationalUnit
SomeCity

This certificate is valid
from Apr 6 15:04:45 2009 GMT
to Apr 6 15:04:45 2010 GMT

Fingerprint: DA0D CA01 6AC4 1D52 DC3E F96B 4CCB 1DBA

(r)eject, accept (o)nce, (a)ccept always

----------------------------------------------------------

I choose "accept always", but the same message appears next time.

I do not wish to have a certificate requirement for MUTT and did not intentionally set the program up to include this feature. How can I get rid of it? My second choice would be to get a new certificate, but then I have to go through this every year.

I have MUTT working on two other servers and this does not happen.

Thanks for your help,
Sanford Stein

look in ~/.muttrc

you should have something similar to below. Just comment out those lines.

Code:
source /path/to/your/smime.rc
set smime_sign_as = 01a234b8.0

Bret,

There is no file named .muttrc anywhere on my server.

On the two servers where mutt works without a certificate, one has no .muttrc file and the other has /root/.muttrc with the single line 'set record=~/sent'.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
SS

I'm having this same issue with mutt. I do have a .muttrc file for it. But I don't have those smime lines in it.
