ftp: anonymous and authenticated

I followed this to setup and I have authenticated virtual users who can access the ftp server, but I have a few questions.

I set chroot_local_user=NO, each virtual user is still 'locked' within their own directory. Is it possible to have the following set: pub directory where anonymous users can download from, and individual virtual user homes where virtual users are able to upload files to their home, and move then to pub for public distribution?

So 'ls /var/ftp' would show
pub user1 user2

Hi,

I guess you're running vsftpd as you mentioned "chroot_local_user=NO". Since you've forgotten the link to the tutorial you've followed, but you say your users are still chrooted into their directories I guess you use "chroot_list_enable".
Anyway, if you want them to write into pub that is outside the jail, you can "mount --bind" that dir into each user's homedir

Regards
