firewall in textconsole?
 
Hi, I want to set up a firewall with the slackware 9.0 distr. but i don't want to install any kind of x-server, so i have to use the text console and thats the point i don't know how to set up a firewall in the text console.

Got to freshmeat and download arno-iptables. All you do is edit a config script, replace your /etc/rc.d/rc.firewall and run the script that comes with it. I have been running it for a while with a kind of paranoid setting and have had no problems. Though, I am on dial up and only connected about 4 hours a day on the average.

vi /etc/sysconfig/firewall.sh (or wherever you want the file)

and type away
