Firewall in RH9

Since my RH need open for internet
I had been setup a firewall as high authority
But winodws pc cannot connect to linux share folder
"fail to read from server
cannot found the network path"

I had been open ports 137-139, but it is not work
What additional ports I need to open for Samba service?
How can I set this rule?

lovelysheep,

You may want to check /etc/services which lists all the ports for the various services including Samba. What you may also want to try is maybe lowering your security and validate if that works and if it does you know it is a port issue and if not, it may be something else. I hope this helps.

Here are the various ports and protocols used by Samba.

To check your current firewall rules, you can use the iptables -L command. Probably one of the best ways to verify that the Samba ports are open (and reachable) is to perform an nmap scan from the client machine.
