hi, im new on linux, i will install in this week linux Mandrake 9.1 , i want to know what firewall can you recommend me about.
BTW: what firewalls are better? ipchains based or iptables based?

iptables will be available under MD9.1

Mandrake has a gui tool to help you configure it (can't remember the name off hand).

I think you mean shorewall - it isjust a front end as is cyph3r7's suggestion. iptables does all the clever stuff.

If you need documentation, HowTOs and Tutorials on iptables,
go to the source -> Netfilter / iptables
