firewalk non-installation :P


after i installed libdnet and libnet, i installed firewalk without any error msgs and after i run it causing this thing:

firewalk: error while loading shared libraries: libdnet.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
If i remember well i need to c/p something in somewhere but i dont actual

try this

Folow the following two steps as root..
1) Add the following line to /etc/ld.so.conf file:

/usr/local/lib
Most probably additional libraries you install reside in this directory. If not, this is the directory where libdnet.so or something like this resides.

/etc/ld.so.conf specifies non-standard locations which the dynamic linker will look for libraries.

2) Run ldconfig program.
This will update some caches...

Now, try rerunning your appliation, I hope it works now.

And let me know what output you get as this is as far I seem to have got while running Firewalk....

But are u getting correct o/p?

Cos when I run it i get foll o/p

Total ports scanned                0
Total ports open:                  0
Total ports unknown:               0
Could u help me as to why it gives this o/p.....

I'm using RH9
