Firestarter Firewall Presentation Handout
I gave a presentation on the Firestarter Firewall interface at my local LUG meeting tonight (another member followed with a presentation on iptables).
You can download a copy of the handout from this link. http://www.pineviewfarm.net/misc/TWUUG_HO_FS.pdf |
Thanks but really a pity there's not much text to go with it. I mean that's what makes it interesting, right?

Actually, and not to move this too far off-topic I hope, it's how PowerPoint and similar tools should be used: little text and mostly graphics, with the text being used for prompts. The speaker notes would be useful though.

XavierP is correct. It was intended as an aid, not as the centerpiece. I wanted to be the centerpiece bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha.
Frankly, the Firestarter interface is so easy that not much was needed to expand on the pictures (though in the presentation I used a live Firestarter program via projector), so long as you understand the concepts of a firewall, ports, and services. My whole spiel, with questions, took less than 15 minutes and made a good intro to my fellow presenter's much more technical presentation on the inner workings of an rc.firewall script. Of course, I was dealing with a highly knowledgeable audience, many of whom know far more about Linux and Unix than I ever will. |
