Finding the right router for my small network (high configurability)

Can someone recommend a router for me?
(I'm talking about one of those approx. $50 dedicated devices, made by Linksys or similar)

I'm setting up a small network with about six computers and a ethernet printer. I'd like to have the router's firewall as configurable as my iptables firewall on linux is -- able to reject by packet type (TCP, UDP, etc.), flags (SYN) and also do stateful inspection. Do these little boxes typically have this much configurability? If so, do you have a specific brand and model to recommend?

The $50 ones with a built in firewall are usually four ports max and the firewall is not that configurable. For maximum configurability, I think your better off getting an old Pentium and converting it to a linux firewall then get a six port hub($80-$90). That will give you all the flexibility you need.
