File System Encryption Options

I have a file server which is running Samba. Recently the accounting dept. asked if anyone outside of the "accounting" group is able to access their files or folder directory and I said no, you have to be a member of the "accounting" gid in order to r-x that info.

I was wondering if there was a way to also encrypt the data or if there are any additional levels or secuirty / access control that I can do to protect user / group data from others?

All is possible. All depends on the amount of trouble you're ready to deal with :)
Examples:
