Fast Flux networks
Greetings,
I just came accross this paper on Fast Flux Networks.
Here is the link: http://www.honeynet.org/papers/ff/fast-flux.html
This is really deep stuff.
Also this paper may help answer some questions regarding unusually high traffic on certain segments of any given network you may administer.

I bumped into that article today by accident (its on Dark Reading). What actually triggered me was I'd remembered the term Fast Flux because I'd seen your post, but hadn't read it. So I read the article then came back here to read your input...you're spot on...that article is very deep, but highly informative (it also lost me a few times...yeah, its high level stuff).
Good reading, it is.
