can anybody plz tell me that how a particular file is encrypted in linux as4.suppose i want to encrypt my samba.conf so that nobody could see the configuration.

You might want to look at Truecrypt to use to encrypt your files.
Also take a look at this article for alternatives. This was the first option in Google. You'll find a lot on Encryption in Linux if you search on Google.
