DMZ HowTo
1). I need to setup our Linux server to be as secure as possible so that we can put it in the DMZ. Can anyone give me a nice place to start since i am rather new to this (i.e. some articles or nice tutorials or anything).
2). We are using samba to access our files from windo$e, but as i've heard, this isn't exactly very secure...any alternatives?
3).Looking for a secure ftp that uses ssh.
Thanx

1) start with the sticky threads in this forum.
2) You won't want to use a Samba share in a DMZ. Too many holes to worry about, alothough it can be done.
3)Ehhh... what does that mean? All modern linux distros come with sftp??

One suggestion.
I raccomend you not to apply the traditional definition of DMZ. Modern DMZ are not demilitarized at all, on the contrary, it is usual to see DMZ with a LOT of restrictions as modern firewalling tecniques allow more expressive statements
