DLoaded a file that cannot be deleted. Please Help Me

Hello,
I have recently dowdloaded a 20KB file that cannot be deleted. I was using KazzaLite on Windows 2000 to download this file. When i try to delete it, W2K tell me "Cannot delete file: The fielname you specify is invalid or too long. Specify a different file name". I try renaming the file to a different name but the same message pops up. Now i am really scare that there somebody might be accessing my computer, and do not know where else to go to for help. Please help me out if you know how to deal with this file. Thank you very much.

Pretty simple, the author of the thread needs to dump W2K and head over to :Pengy: to get something that has a simple rm -f solution.
Hint: Click the penguin.

Or even.. Security and Linux.. This belongs in the General forum but better yet.. in a Windows forum.

HaHa
Acid - i just thought that somebody was using this file to some how access my computer, but i don't know too much about computer security.

Neo - haha, your point is well taken, but i am still trying to figure out how to mount a CD-Rom drive on RedHat. So its gonna be a while, before i even have any files to remove.

Tricky - i will post this thread once more on the General Forum and you are right about posting it on a windows forum. I just thought there were some members who might have some knowledge of windows

If you really have redhat on your box boot it,head over to your microshit partition and delete the file.

Could always delete it in DOS. Luckily, they learnt a few things from modern Unices and included autocompletion in the recent versions. It still doesn't work as well though.

Like already mentioned this question has totally no relevance for Linux security or usage. I'm pretty sure we'd like to win over ppl by showing 'em Linux usage ain't hampered by these antics.
Please try to offer some positive suggestions when posting this ain't a linux (.*security) question.
The poster OTOH should have included the filename(s) etc.

Like Bert suggested using DOS (with proper usage of globbing) may help to delete the file(s).
