I have implement disk quota on my mail server RHEL 5 running POSTFIX with soft limit 500M and hard limit as 700M. Is there any way that the user gets a mails automatically when the soft limit is reached that DISK Quota has exceded

thanks for reply .
My question was that the system will send mail to the user automatically when a user(nearly 500 users are there) crosses the quota.
How do i do that?

You would probably need to setup a cronjob to run a regular scan on their quota'd directories or files, and when they hit a certain size (for directories, use a du -ak command) issue a mailx command. Use the output of the commands with a greater-than-or-equal to if statement.

Here's a few simple examples: http://www.thegeekstuff.com/2010/06/...ment-examples/
