disable root login

can some body tell me how to disable root login in GUI , i mean x-manager , usually we cannot loginin as root(x11) in ubuntu but fedora allows root login in xwindow

fedora 7,8,or 9 in fedora 9 that could be "fun" you may need to rewright the gdm xml file
with a strong password in fedora for root the gdm login should not matter , I think Ubuntu is the only one that has root ( local) login disabled .

man securetty to get you started.

Last time I checked, Debian Etch had that feature.
As a matter of fact, it was turned on by default when I installed it.
I guess all Debian-based distributions have that.

IIRC, if you have that in etch, you made the choise when the installer asked how you wanted it.
