Digital Signatures Creation possible with Linux??

Hi there,

I am just wondering if its possible to digitally sign new and existing documents in order to make em more secure ?

I want to be able to insert a digital signature inside a file and i also want that signature to be invisible to users.. Any help, any program would be very apreciated.

Many thanks.

M

Yes. One example of such a tool is GnuPG.

Sounds like you are interested in steganography. That Wikipedia page has links to several apps. BTW, I think it would be a good idea if you explain what exactly you are trying to accomplish. It's possible that using digital signatures in this way won't provide you with what you're looking for. But since it's not exactly clear what you're looking for, well, clarification would be nice. Keep in mind that the hidden signature will need to be removed from the file before it can be used to verify the authenticity/integrity of the file.

Thanks for your answer Win32,

What i actually wanna do is to tag files, and i want to be able to read those strings in the context of Itellectual Property Protection, known as DLP.

Thanks
