If I understand you right you only want people to be able to read the email while they're in the office right?
So first things first how is the network layed out? I'm guessing all office computers are going through a router and the email server is outside that router. Something like this?
Code:
office computer office computer office computer
         |___________________|______________________|
                             |
                  [Router / firewall] [Email server]
                             |______________|
                                   |
                             [Internet]
