DenyHost locked me out. How to create exceptions?
I can't explain it, but somehow DenyHost has locked me out of my computer. I can still access it locally, but every time I clear the /etc/hosts.deny ip address, DenyHost fills it back up. How do I remove my ip address from the hosts.deny list and not have DenyHost add it back in? I've tried commenting it out but DenyHost is too smart!

You should be adding your IP to the hosts.allow file. That supersedes anything in hosts.deny.

Actually I do have one more question, namely what distro are you using? I've seen a couple of other threads with a similar problem (the system is modifying hosts.deny), and I'm wondering if it is distro specific.

You also have to restart sshd otherwise the changes won't be taken in account.
