Deny Webpage Access
I'm kinda new at being a Linux admin, (about four months), and haven't had much luck finding info on this. I've been having problems with some users going to "undesireable" websites here at work and want to deny access to them. I don't know if I can do that in this version of Linux and would apperciate any help.
I am running Linux 7.0, SuSe eMail Server II 2.2. Thanx in advance! Johnny |
I think you can just put the ip into the file /etc/hosts.deny.

Are you using SQUID as proxy server ?
SQUID version ? |

I'm not running SQUID and I don't have my firewall put together yet. When I do, it's going to be SmoothWall.
I'm thinking that might be the way to go, but if there's a solution on my Linux server, I would like to use that for now. I did look at the etc/hosts file earlier, thinking that might be the answer, but it didn't work. I really appreciate the response I'm getting from all of you! Please feel free to e-mail me off list if you would like. jsawyer@roadswest.com Johnny |
