So the moral of the story is an internet facing device should not be using default or weak passwords for root. Excuse me, but I think I may have heard that before.
This looks like Lightaidra with a tweak to target a vulnerability patched in May 2012 and the ability to pwn devices already pwned by Lightaidra.
