well luckily my cronjob worked i have access to my server again.

im aware of my messed up setup. its becasue of my VPS host setup my VPS weird theres some screwy cruical enviroment files and stuff missing blah blah blah.

i really wouldnt be having this much trouble i dont think if stuff worked as tutorial guides expect them to. i can usualy easily catch on to these kind of things after seeing a similiar example.

i jsut did the script again to see if i could copy and paste it before the window disconnects/closes (btw im using putty for my ssh client if that matters)

[root@vps local]# ./iptables_script
iptables: No chain/target/match by that name

my best guess is that your hosting provider has disabled the NAT and Mangle tables... but the output is not verbose enough to determine that... which script where you executing?? you need to find-out which command in the script is causing this error...

if i type in this line by line...
that would just cause you to get locked-out, as you would never get to the INPUT rules in time...

i can execute the script you gave me if i take out the stuff with --state stuff in it. i sent this infromation to my host. of course they havent responded yet :(
