Cracking a gpg pgp key (passphrase)

Hi all,

I've lost the passphrase for one of my gpg secret keys and I have to recover it.
The passphrase was short and simple, so I think I can succeed on brute-forcing it.

I've wrote a perl script to do that job, but it's really slow.
I'm wondering if any of you can point me to some faster utility or to some informations about the algorithms used in the passphrase encryption, so I can write a faster C++ program to do that hard job.

Thank you.

DaRkBoDoM, there's several places on the WWW where you can get help with this kind of stuff, but LQ isn't one of them. The rules you agreed to when you signed-up make this quite clear. Please keep in mind that it's not your quest for information which is causing this thread to be closed - it's your stated intentions.
