Comparing security on Windows and Linux

I found this article and it was good and interesting. Thought I just might share it.

Haha... I just hate all that extra stuff you need in windows like spyware, anti-vir, safe-xp, xp-security and so on... No wonder linux is faster....

Some people begin to hate computers when they use Windows and too many companies invest in its insecure design (i.e, they'd never want this OS to be real secure).

I'll never understand why Microsoft wants to be so ubiquitous (insecure software everywhere) and now they reap the cheats they've made for their programs to run better. The result: flaws that makes everything fall.

People like it because it is "user friendly", and for Microsoft this means: "you don't need to know what's going on".

When things start to fall apart, you cannot trust anymore (which is worse if you don't know what's going on).

They can fool people sometimes, but they can fool all the people all the time, and now they can see the light (ie, invest some time learning the operating system, now that is easier than before). I'm sure that those who get a grip of this better OS would never feel the need to go back again.

switching to linux

I love linux, but I also love gaming, and that's the only thing that keeps me on Windows. If there were versions of EQ and WoW for linux, then I wouldn't use anything BUT linux :).

Check out Cedega. They have an extensive software compatibility list.

It is also pretty cheap and very easy to use.
