I had a really hard time getting clamAV to work right with squid. In the end I just used squid to filter all executable files from being downloaded by network users. I setup an acl for users and an acl for administrators. administrators could download exe's zip's rar's etc, but users could not. This should help protect network users from accidenlty launching a malicious executable file.
