clam av actions

Hello all!!

These days, there's a lot of viruses floating around the net, being delivered along with spam, from infected machines, etc. Now I'm using spamassassin+clamav+qmailscanner . While this is a fairly good setup, the problem is that a lot of legit emails have viruses attached with them, sent from MUAs like Outlook.

The way qmailscanner and clam are set up on my system is, that when an infected mail is received, it is immediately quarantined to:

with a notification email sent to A PARTICULAR email address (in my case, the postmaster for the domain). Is it possible to send an email to the intended recipient as well, along with the original message subject? What config files do I have to change??

Any other suggestions?? Is there any way for the non admin user to safely read mail which is virus-laden?

Well like u said that there are many legit mails being blocked which is a problem remember if u do not know who those people are then delete those mails. If u really need to check those mails then Linux is a good OS to do it under normally. Always read those emails NOT as root OK. Then if there is a attachment it normally will not have executable permissions unless u give it therefor u have another security blocker right there. Make sure that all services are block to leave your system and only have services and ports that are really necessary open. Just there u have what u really need to block most viruses.
