Can I create a popup box that alerts me when someone logs in to my box remotely?

I would like to find out both when successful, and when access is denied... Is this possible? Is it logged to somewhere specific, or just /var/log/messages?

By default on most systems, successful and failed ssh logins end up in /var/log/messages. You can use swatch to monitor the file. One easy way to create the popup message is by using python and easygui .
