I had to reinstall my system and had to install PureVPN again. I realized my previous "guide" was incomplete. I would like to list again what to do, to install PureVPN, or more specifically on Manjaro with Gufw Firewall, in case other users will have similar problems.
Follow these steps:
1. Add PureVPN in your Network Manager. In the AUR is a helpful script for PureVPN, just search for "purevpn", install it and follow the instructions, which you will see, when you type purevpn -h into a terminal. I used the PPTP protocol, haven't tried the Open VPN protocol.
2. Load the nf_conntrack_pptp module at start. You do this by:
sudo nano /etc/modules-load.d/modules.conf
Add nf_conntrack_pptp in an empty line.
Either restart, or load the module with:
sudo modprobe nf_conntrack_pptp
3. Open the 47 port:
sudo nano /etc/ufw/before.rules
Before the line # drop INVALID packets add this line:
-A ufw-before-input -p 47 -j ACCEPT
4. Either restart or reload the firewall with:
sudo ufw reload
You are done. In the network manager you can connect now to the installed cities. Or you can edit the wifi connections and add a standard VPN in the general tab, which will be automatically started when online.
