Can't get /etc/ssh/ssh_config changes to stick

solved

edit 7/30/09
Hi. i was asked by a moderator to explain my problem. I was trying to change the default port in my ssh config and it seemed I couldn't get my changes to actually work. The reason why they would not work was because I was editing the the config file /etc/ssh/ssh_config rather than /etc/ssh/sshd_config. If anyone would care to explain the differences in the functions of the two files, I'm all ears.

thanks to unSpawn
