Bypassing the Loggon Screen

Hello Guys,

My boss are asking me to bypass the logon screen of the boxes that runs an special aplication that should be launched automatically without the user asistance, so it should logon to a specific user (not root) without typing the username and the password.

How can I do that, anyone know??

Thanks

Raul

You can configure your boot load, GDM for example, to do this for you. When you boot click the System button. From there you can just click configure manager, and it will ask you for you root password. One of the options that then comes up is to autologon and then enter the user you wish to log on as.

Sorry, but I think I didn't get it. Where Am I supose to find the "System Button" to them pass to the configure manager?. I forgot to tell you that I'm running Red Hat Enterprise 4 WS.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Raul
