Booting in insecure mode - how to secure it again?

My PC froze while in Opera browser - so I had to turn off and on again.
Now the PC boots in "insecure mode2 What do I need to do?
Needless to say I am a Linux novice.

Which distribution and release version of Linux are you usiing? There are well over 1,000 available and this would be a starting point.

Do you actually see the message "insecure mode2" on screen when booting? Never seen that myself. More specifics on what happens might help someone to help you.

Smile System freezing/crashing

Hi there
My version is:
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Linux Mint 19.1 Tessa"
NAME="Linux Mint"
VERSION="19.1 (Tessa)"
PRETTY_NAME="Linux Mint 19.1"

I think I have solved the problem by going to Time-shift and rebooting to the events of 19:00 yesterday.
This seems to have worked.

I am going to avoid the Opera browser in future which I was using at the time of the freeze
I believe that Opera Chrome based.
I had a similar problem [RAM] ran out [?] when on win10 a few months ago
There was a tendency for the screen to go black momentarily which I think was a memory issue then.
