Question Blocking IP Addresses

I have a few frequent script runners visiting my FTP server WBEL box. I was wondering what would be the best way to block these individuals. Any suggestions would be appreicated.

Running vsftpd, Apache and iptables.

Block IP addresses? try adding IP's into your /etc/hosts.deny file.

Or alternatively:

iptables -I INPUT -s xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -j DROP

where xxx... is the offending party.
