best free linux firewall distro?
 

i have an intel p233mmx with 64mb of ram and a 4gb hd and would like to install a linux firewall distro on it. I'd like to have all the goodies like vpn, nat, dhcp, dns, etc. what are some of the better ones out there?

both these seem to be very good and what i am looking for. Which of these 2 do most people prefer?

I use this one.

It's free for consumers. It's fast and has good reviews. Oh yeah they also have an update service that dls the latest patches for ya.

I think smoothwall is one of the most popular.

I know a lot of people who run Smoothwall, I'd give it a try.

IPCOP is really good: you configure it thru a web interface, and now ipcop1.4 is based on LFS :p

Smoothwall and IPCop are very similar.
When I have issues with a version of one, I use the other.

If you are running a 2.2 kernel, ipchains is included as part of the deal, and works great. If you are on a newer kernel, iptables is part of the deal and works great.

I have run smoothwall, and I like the documentation. The installation is a snap, and it works great. If you are on a dialup it will autodial for you whenever you enter a URL on a browser.
