Automatically Setting File Permissions in a Directory

Hello

I am trying to get my files from home to school by setting up a webserver with directory listing enabled. I got the webserver working, but the problem is that whenever I transfer files to my webserver (typically sent from a windows machine to the linux machine), the file permission is automatically set to RW for user and R for group. I would like it to be automatically set to R for others as well so I can access the files from other computers.

How can I automatically set the file permissions without having to right click on each file and adjust the settings manually?

Thanks

-Maneesh

Hmm.

Umask is set to 22, and whenever I create a new file, the proper permissions are set. The problem only occurs when I drag a file from my Windows Machine to my Linux file. What else should I try?
