Authentication on a wireless network

Hi Guys

Im setting up a wireless network for around 1000 users and need to look into enforcing some form of authentication.

What i'd like to know is it better from other peoples point of view doing the authentication on the repeater nodes themselves or send the data back to a main server to do the check. Also from your point of view what is the best way of doing the authentication, Radius, NocatAuth or something else??

Thanks for your time

Tom

It depends on how critical the information is that is transversing the network. If the data is critical, then I would say sacrific a bit of traffic and use a central radius server as it tends to be a bit more secure. If you'd require more bandwidth than anything else, then go with nocatauth on each router/repeater.

Each solution has its pro's and con's. Just up to you to weigh up each one.
